We had a little corridor activity today. My lovely college. My corridor, F.Y.I is the rather secluded one, called 'The West Wing'. I am on a all females floor.(Do i hear the 'oh....'s coming along there?) There is existence of the male specimen on my corridor, just that they leave on the floor downstairs.
So, btw, we went to Eureka Skydeck, the tallest building in Melbourne. It is a observation deck, built on the 88th floor. Some guuy's idea of a good time, looking down from the 88th floor!
Me, well, I am not a big fan of heights. It just isnt my 'thang'...
So, predicatably, I was fearing for mi dear life.
But hye, it wasnt that bad. i was doing fine. I did awesome, in fact. Never showed traces of fear, never complained! I did enjoy watching people through the telescope there. It was so creepy, I could like watch ppl playing tennis and stuff! I could even tell a woman was wearing Nike trainers, had a boob job.No, kidding. After the skydeck, we went to get some yummy gelati in Trampoline. One the way down in the elevator, my ears got 'blocked' and it lasted like for 1 hour! that just sucked cause every sound was echoing in my head! Gelati was awesome. I had peanut nutter(peanut butter, la.nutter)violet rumble(i think that was the name, it was vanilla ice cream with chocolate shavings and honey)and mint, which was a big disappointment. I love all things mint and this ice cream just didnt do it for me! i was vanilla with mint candy bits, which got frustrating because the candy bits got stuck in your teeth! We headed home soon after
That's not what this post is about, though
Halfway through in the skydeck(88 floors above ground, mind you), Zac told me a really disturbing fact that just, well pretty much ruined my mood for the rest of the trip.
He said that beggars in India cut off their own children's limbs so that they can get more money begging. What kind of world do we live in? This really shouldnt be happening!
What kind of life will that poor innocent child have? it is really quite stunning how people can be so ignorant things like this. which just goes on to prove the failure of the government in taking care of its people's needs.
Who will speak up for the illiterate bunch that suffer silently, who go so far as to decapitate their own child just to put food in their tummy.
Imagine what the poor child must have felt when he/she got decapitated.Imagine the pain teh poor kid must have gone through!Imagine the rest of the life the poor child has to live, crippled, because his/her parents wanted him/her to survive. Even thinking about that little kid, right now, this very moment, there is that possiblity that a child is being cut because his/her parents are so poor
you might think that its the parent's fault, but is it really? When so many people live in a material world, affording luxurious items, have more money than they can spend, will it kill them to give some out to the poor instead of buying shares and 'securing' their kids' already thrice secured future?
how can people sleep at night when there are people suffering this way? Dont corrupt politicians have a conscience at all?Burn in hell u rotten politicians! hope the satan decapitates you too.
Call me dogmatic, I couldnt care less! It not the parents' fault. its the rest of the world's! No one should have to go through that. If there is a God, why does God let his people suffer this way?
It tears me apart, disturbs me greatly that things like these still happen when technological changes have made impossible feats seem ordinary. Back when people said that handphones will never exist, a bunch of scientist poured their heart and should into creating one, and today handphones spring out everywhere like mushrooms after the rain.
now, people say that poverty and famine will never be erased. Why dont a bunch of scientist pour their heart and soul into working out a solution for that? W
Why is it so hard to make poverty history when fashion trends can be made history in a matter of weeks?
Isnt anyone listening? Is God listening?
How am I supposed to fall asleep?!
Hope you have a conscience
